KATIE GEISSINGER
Katie Geissinger, mezzo-soprano, toured festivals worldwide with Philip Glass and Robert Wilson's Einstein on the Beach, and is featured on the Elektra Nonesuch recording. She performs and records extensively with Meredith Monk, including the Houston Grand Opera production of Atlas, the recent release Volcano Songs on ECM New Series, the currently touring Magic Frequencies, which premiered in Munich, and Voice Travel at this summer's Lincoln Center Festival. She won a New York Dance and Performance Award for her performance in Monk's The Politics of Quiet. Katie has sung with the Michael Gordon Band throughout Holland and in Hamburg and NYC, recorded Brian Eno's Music for Airports with the Bang on a Can All-Stars, and the score of Kundun for Philip Glass. Her off-Broadway credits include Dido and Aeneas, Mahagonny Songspiel, Trouble in Tahiti , and numerous Gilbert & Sullivan operettas. She also appears regularly as a concert soloist, including performances with the Waverly Consort and Sacred Music in a Sacred Space.
